Hot Stone
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage which utilizes smooth, heated stones to massage the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly. First, the therapist warms up the body with traditional Swedish massage, then massages you while holding a heated stone. Hot Stone massage promotes deep muscle and tissue relaxation, alleviates stress, releases toxins, improves circulation, calms the psyche, and relieves pain caused by muscle aches, arthritis and fibromyalgia.

One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Long gliding strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. A combination of strokes, kneading and rolling are applied with the oil or gel to help reduce friction on the skin. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in targeting chronic muscle tension, injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis. The muscles must be relaxed in order to effectively perform deep-tissue massage which is why it is generally integrated with Swedish massage techniques.
